GETTING A NEW WARDROBE

SERMON SERIES: IT'S TIME TO GROW UP 5

BOOK OF COLOSSIANS

MESSAGE: GETTING A NEW WARDROBE

Colossians 3 : 5 - 14

Introduction: Mark Twain introduces us to Huckleberry Finn. After his adoption by the widow Douglass, poor Huckleberry had difficulty in adjusting to his new life. The problem of course, was in the matter of his clothes. The poor boy was far too attached to that picturesque ruin of rags that had made him such a colorful figure in the community before he struck it rich. He had great difficulty in wearing his new clothes. In the Bible, of course, clothes symbolize habits. "Off with the old," says God, "on with the new! Off with the old, at once and once for all."
